Kas to Antalya

We have bought tickets on the 12 noon Bati Antalya bus to Antalya. But on arriving early at the Otobus terminal we get them changed for an earlier bus. It seems there is never a problem in Turkey. So off we go again. Its a glorious day, which was not forcast. The journey takes about 4 & 1/2 hours. People get on, people get off. People call requests to the Kaptan (busdriver) to stop at seemingly remote stretches of road where they alight with their luggage. There are several big sacks of potatoes on board amongst other things. I am still waiting for the live chickens and goats. We see goats aplenty on the journey, sometimes quite big herds complete with shepherds. There are no fences, the goats seem to have pretty good road sense. Sometimes the traffic stops to let them cross. The mountain roads twist and turn, with sometimes glipses of the sea.  As we drive through Kemer on the coast we see warning signs for Turtles crossing. (Caretta caretta is Turtle in Turkish). The bus is full, but thats not a problem. The Kaptan produces some collapsible step/stools and the extra people sit in the aisle! We are approaching , the road is a three lane highway, busy with Antalya. As we are approaching a roundabout a car cuts across in front of us and the lorry in the next lane. That bus has good brakes and the driver has fast reflexes. How we didn't all collide I don't know. People are thrown about a bit but no one is hurt thankfully. Phew! I don't need to know exactly what the driver said, but I think he was a little upset!
