Sighisoara to Sibiu

Its only 97 kilometres but it took 2 &1/2 hours by snail train. Hey ho, we saw a lot of countryside.

I think

I think life is probably quite harsh in the countryside. The houses are ramshackle with tumbledown outbuildings. It seems everyone is taking advantage of the lovely weather to dig their veg` gardens. Burning offcuts and prunings as they go. Everyone appears to have chickens and ducks who scratch about in the newly turned soil for grubs. Some also have geese, turkeys and guinea fowl. Pigs, sheep, cattle and horses too. We saw horses being used in the fields, also pulling carts loaded with wood. The sheep are protected by shepherds and dogs.

There seems to be extremes of farm machinery. From horses to state of the art tractors. Saw one very big modern tractor well and truly stuck in a bog! Horse wouldnt have got stuck, in fact the horse would have probably refused to go in.

We saw foxes trotting through fields. The hedges and trees are starting show a bit of green.

Sadly there was quite a bit of fly tipping. Shame!
