Alexandropoloi to Thessaloniki

So, here we are in the bus depot at Alexandropoloi. Its not a vibrant place. We have got used to callers shouting destinations, a buzz. But it is a new place, new experience.

So, we are sitting waiting. And a voice (Midlands accent - hope I have it right).  `Hello, are you from Eastbourne?`. WHAT? Er, no, we are from Burgess Hill. I am wearing a Beachy Head Marathon sweatshirt, and this lovely man studied at Eastbourne university. Spooky. What a lovely man. He lives half year in Corfu but loves travelling. We shared the bus to Thessaloniki. Lost him there, but he has the web address so hope he keeps in touch.

On the journey we were treated to seeing a sea plane taking off and landing. Maybe a training flight? But it was a good sight.  Arrived in Thessaloniki. Our lovely host had offered to collect us and we were happy to accept. What a treat.
